LAVROC LOS OLIVOS RIDE

Santa Barbara County, California

Riders: Jesus & his wife, Jesus' brother Jorge, Xavier, Walter, me (George) and a new guy Jeffrey. Jesus met me at my house and we immediately headed to Malibu via the 10 and then North on PCH. We met Jesus and Walter at the 76 gas station on the corner of Sunset and PCH. We heade farther North to Neptune's Net just for a break and to see if anyone else was going to join us. They were not open so we just sat there chatting for a few minutes. Just as we sere going to take off, the new guy, Jeffrey, rolled up ans asked if we were LAVROC. We now had 6 bikes and we kept going North on PCH until we got to Oxnard. We took a quick little break at 76 before gettin on the 101 to go to Santa Barbara. We filled up got some water and hit the road. We did not stop until we got off the 101 at the 154 San Marcos Pass Road and continued up to the Crystal Springs Tavern. We got there just before noon and had a beer before heading to Los Olivos. The ride down the Old Stagecoach Road is so fun and beautiful. We arrived at the Los Olivos Grocery Store and were welcomed by this incredible smelling tri tip barbecue. The guy cooking offered Free Tastes and we were immediately sold. We went inside ordered our sandwiches picked up a couple of beers and sat in the eating area. Just as we were finishing Allen and his crew showed up. He was short on time so after we ate we just spent a few minutes talking and then we headed North to Foxen Canyon Road. This is a beautiful road tha goes by some of the Vineyards that are peppered in that area. We did not stop to do any tasting but we could have. We rolled through the canyon until we ended up in Santa Maria. We filled our tanks and hit the 101 South at full blast. We jammed past Santa Barbara and got off in Carpenteria to take the 150 up to Lake Casitas and end up in Ojai. We stopped at Boccalis Pizza for a small bite and some refreshments. I don't know what happened to me, but I stopped taking pictures. I think it was the heat that affected my thinking. Anyhow, after that we climed the Ojai Santa Paula Road all the way to the 126 and rolled into Fillmore. We stopped and gassed up and hit the road. We all split up on the 5 South. It was almost a 400 mile day. I can't wait until the next one.
